Schools.
Schools are the backbone of the Day of Gold campaign. By empowering their students to raise awareness and empathy, schools affect change throughout their communities. Day of Gold started in 2017 at Southside Elementary School in Sarasota, Florida, after the school said goodbye to two students, Benjamin Gilkey and Avery Rann, earlier that year. Since then, Day of Gold has grown exponentially, involving more schools, more kids taking a stand, and more big change.
